Purelan earns prestigious NATRUE and COSMOS Natural Certifications

Purelan has earned dual natural certifications from NATRUE and COSMOS Natural (via EcoCert), two globally recognized authorities in natural cosmetics.

This recognition aligns with our sustainability pledge that every new product developed at Medela must improve the lives of our customers and contribute to our sustainability goals. It also reflects our commitment to providing safe, effective, and environmentally responsible care—for mothers, babies, and the world they live in.

These certifications validates that Purelan:

• Is made with natural and ethically sourced ingredients
• Is formulated without synthetic chemicals, GMOs, and petrochemical derivatives
• Is not tested on animals
• Is packaged using recyclable materials
• Features transparent labeling with verified ingredient origins

The COSMOS Natural certification, managed by EcoCert, ensures minimal processing, respect for biodiversity, and responsible sourcing. The NATRUE standard also ensures ingredient verification through independent third-party certification and bans synthetic fragrances, dyes, and petrochemical-based substances.

What else is new with Purelan?

We’ve also made thoughtful improvements to Purelan’s primary packaging and usability, based on customer feedback and evolving market expectations:

• The new mono-material tube is food-contact-grade and fully recyclable, replacing the previous multi-layer version
• The 37g tube is now slightly transparent and softer, making it easier to squeeze
• The 7g format features a new applicator tip, ideal for targeted use and on-the-go convenience
